Hoping it will be a fun participation - I am in Room 7 - Mind Spring - Mill Neck manor Magical Miniature Garden - Yep, that's right a room of miniature art - It is the story of Pinks, a magical creature who dwells on the grounds of Mill Neck, enjoying the beauty of her surroundings. She noticed that some of her flowering friends would go missing from the gardens but she would see them through the windows of the big house. Pinks wondered why they would leave the open air and go inside. So one day, using her magic, she turned herself into a beautiful flower and jumped into a basket laying on the ground with some of her flowering friends and they were swept away, "Inside" thought Pinks, "we're going inside!" The basket was placed in the refrigerator of Room #6. "Well it sure is dark in here. We need some lights my friends!" and suddenly, like a million stars the darkness became light. Pinks noticed that outside looked a little sterile so she opened the door and ventured onto the counter. "This looks like it could be a very cozy place", she thought and with a magical burst of energy, grass began to creep across the counters. "That's much nicer", she thought. She jumped over to the window and threw it open wide. "Elves, fairies come join me. Let's Party!" And in a flash, all of Pink's garden friends came inside, helping turn the counter into a garden and the walls into a selfie art gallery. These moments of horticultural revelry happen in seconds of human time, which is hours of fairy time, and Debra Ann Kasimakis has frozen such a party for you to view.

As members of the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce, we are informing you of an opportunity to enhance your standing in the community by choosing to make a donation to the Hicksville Memorial Fountain Fund. We are hoping each one of you will be enthusiastic enough to make a $100 donation to this cause. Our timeline calls for us to create the new sculpture for the fountain in the next year or so. That successful completion depends on a responsibility of ownership, as demonstrated in the form of supporting donations by Chamber members and the residents of our community. Together, we can accomplish amazing things. You may also want to hold your own awareness fundraiser to help us attain our goal.

Brookville – New York - Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in the 30th year of presenting the finest in world class entertainment on Long Island, The Artists Group and Elliott Sroka, Executive Director and are proud to present “NITE OUT” – by Jerelyn Hanrahan. Making it’s public debut for Dianna Ross and the world on September 14 at 8PM. The “Art Under Glass” program is in the 5^th year of presenting unusual, cutting edge, displays exhibited in the open, blank canvas space, that is the Atrium of Tilles Center.

Jerelyn Hanrahan is an internationally accomplished artist, professor and curator. She was recently listed by Long Island Pulse magazine as a VIP artist for 2010. Her two and three-dimensional, public sculpture, museum and gallery installations, video and digital work are exhibited, published and awarded throughout North America and Europe.

Currently her public works are on view on Governors Island, Adelphi University,  the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, and upcoming venue’s include Pearl’s of Community in the hamlet of Oyster Bay.

Her professional studio, Atelier, Studio / Fine Arts resides in the hamlet of Oyster Bay, which functions as the artists studio, as well as a contemporary art space, exhibiting an international and local spectrum of artists.

“The Science of Fringematics”
Three Days in September 24-25-26

Brookville – New York - Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in it’s 30th year of presenting the finest in world class entertainment on Long Island, will again open its doors and host the Second Long Island Fringe Festival September 24, 25 & 26, 2010. The Artists Group, a Hicksville based arts organization, has gathered together cutting edge dance, music, theater, performance poetry and visual artistry artistry in a celebration of “The Science of Fringematics”

Evening performances on Tilles mainstage, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, will include dance by Dance Visions, Circle of Dance Repertory Company, Just Left of Center Collective and each evening will highlight C.W. Post Dance Faculty and Alumni. The R and B sounds of The Coolfish Band, the pop stylings of DoubleSpeak, classic rockin’ Suck it Easy Band and Jessica Semins will charm the audience with music. The art of the word will also be showcased as we present “Poets with Passion” and a dramatic reading of “Sistas on Fire”. Check listing for each evening’s line up.

Saturday and Sunday will present individual daytime performances featuring: “The Letter”, a bittersweet love story opening our theatrical presentations, which also includes a dramatic reading of “Sistas on Fire” by Marcia McNair and the Post Theater Company’s version of “Romeo and Juliet”. The Long Island International Film Expo will have two screenings per day of selected films from the 2010 Expo. Check listing for daily line ups.

There will be an Opening Reception Friday evening from 5-7pm featuring, “Fringe Underground”, a display of The Art of ZIG and the music of DJ-Pete-EG. Saturday and Sunday from noon til 6pm free activities occur in the Atrium of Tilles Center and will include Hoop Dancing, spoken word, music & a LIVE interactive visual art event with Alli Berman renowned, world wide Puzzle Artist.

Individual tickets for daytime performances are $7.00. Ticket packages are available in many price levels up to the $90 All Access Pass which grants you admission to all performances of the festival.
